Do you long for a naturally gorgeous complexion? Do you wish that you had absolutely beautiful, glowing skin? Picture perfect flawless skin is what every woman desires. But most of us have resigned to the fact that our skin is less than perfect. Lack of proper skincare routine and a good diet makes it next to impossible to attain that radiant glow.
Stressful lifestyle, hectic work schedule, inadequate sleep, lack of nutritional diet, pollution, harmful sun rays (UVA/UVB), excessive smoking and drinking alcohol are the major factors which lead to a dull and dry skin. All of these are part and parcel of our life and we cannot turn things around overnight, but we can surely prevent them. As the saying goes, ‘Prevention is better than cure’. Don’t wait until your skin is filled with dead cells, no matter how busy the day may be. Take an extra few minutes to care for your skin.
Try these 4 home remedies and regain your lost charm and glow instantly!
1. Honey & Lemon
This is by far the best natural facial you can provide for your skin. All you need to do is take one tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of honey. Mix it till the honey dissolves properly in the juice. Just rub your face with a wet towel and apply the mixture on your face. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and then wash your face thoroughly with cold water. The citric acid present in lemon helps keep the skin clear by removing dead cells, and its vitamin C content helps reduce dark spots by increasing the cell renewal process. Both honey and lemon works as a natural bleacher, which makes your skin glow instantly.
2. Turmeric
Turmeric is an excellent antiseptic and skin-lightening agent that helps minimize scars and other marks. It has the most medicinal value and is used for almost all ailments. Mix one tablespoon of turmeric powder with enough pineapple juice to make a paste. Apply the paste to your face and neck. Leave it on until the paste dries completely. Then wash it off with lukewarm water.
Another way to use turmeric on your skin is by making a paste, mixing equal amounts of turmeric powder and gram flour with a little water or milk. Apply it evenly on your skin and leave it on until it dries. Wash it off with lukewarm water.
3. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is called the ‘plant of immortality’, by Egyptians. It has numerous benefits for the human body especially on the skin. It has antibacterial properties that help kill bacteria that cause acne, anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe irritated skin, and astringent properties that help heal scars. Plus, aloe vera moisturizes the skin and stimulates new skin cell growth. Extract the gel from an aloe vera leaf. Apply the gel on your face and allow it to dry. Then rinse with lukewarm water.
4. Baking Soda
Baking soda balances pH levels of the skin, which is very important to maintain clear skin. Plus, its mild antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties help deal with other skin problems. It also works as an excellent exfoliating instrument to keep the skin free from dirt, impurities and dead skin cells. Mix one teaspoon of baking soda with one teaspoon of water or lemon juice. Apply on skin and let dry. Finally rinse your face with lukewarm water.
