Description
Named previously as Al Wasl Hospital, this medical centre was renamed as the Latifa Hospital in 2012 as per the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, to the honour of his mother the late Sheikha Latifa Bint Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. One of the biggest maternity and childcare hospital in the country and established in 1987, Latifa Hospital provides tertiary care for maternal and neonatal services including pediatric and neonatal surgery as well as treatment for genetic and metabolic issues. This hospital has a 344-bed setup with an advanced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a team of highly experienced healthcare professionals. Latifa Hospital is accredited by JCI and was bestowed with the title of 'Baby Friendly' hospital status in February 2011 by UNICEF.
