Raquel holds the degree of an Occupational Therapist from Oviedo University in Spain and graduated in 2010. She has also completed her postgraduation in Gerontology and Early Intervention and also holds the Lymphedema Therapy Certification from the well-known Klose Training Institute, United States. She efficiently handles individuals suffering from primary and secondary Lymphedema using Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) with techniques of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), compression bandaging, kinesiotapping and exercises.
Raquel also treats patients with different kinds of oedema like Post-Traumatic and Post-Surgical Edema as well as other pathologies related such us Varicose veins, DVT, Chronic Venous Insufficiency, Fibromyalgia, etc. Her core focus is in the assessment, reporting and treatment of Upper extremity disability including conditions such as Musculoskeletal pathologies, Stroke, Parkinson, Arthritis and Rheumatic diseases, Tendon Injuries, Amputation, etc. Her treatment techniques include the use of therapeutic activities and exercises, Hand Therapy, Mirror Therapy, Scar management Odema management, Sensory re-education, Joint protection and training in activities of daily living and adaptive or assistive devices.
